“The St. Nicholas Market is coming up on November 7th and 8th, come and check it out! We are going to be hosting 75+ vendors, and we have arts and food, woodworking, painting, and floral work, all handmade and artisan. What an opportunity to invest in a person, in a community, our own parishioners will be in the choir room; come and see what talents we possess here at Christ Church. I truly believe this is the best local artisan market there is, and we are the ones who host it!” says The Rev. Keith Pozzuto, Rector, at Christ Episcopal Church.
“We love supporting local. The market vendor focus is on non-profits, and local artists and artisans.” says Sharon Phillips Murphy, Rector, St. Nicholas Market Co-Chair.
The St. Nicholas Market was started in 2022 to raise funds for Christ Episcopal Church’s local ministries. The market’s focus is local non-profits, artisan, and artist vendors.
About St. Nicholas: Christ Episcopal Church’s annual St. Nicholas Market, a holiday offering to the community to support local missions, keeps alive the tradition of the third-century prelate who obeyed Jesus’ words to “sell what you own and give the money to the poor.”
Christ Episcopal Church is the oldest continuously meeting Christian congregation in the City of Temple. The church is busy serving the needs of the congregation through a pastoral care program and focusing on the needs of the community by providing lunches and hot meals to the homeless and poor, providing guidance and tutoring to at-risk school children, delivering Eucharist to homebound and hospitalized persons, supporting medical missions in Honduras, and providing hundreds of backpacks for school children from poor families. The church also has a local Christmas market, St. Nicholas Market, that supports local artists and artisans. Proceeds from the market go to fund local ministries of the church.
